"Hvae you noticed that the best things almost always seem to be limited? This bottle and the juice in it are simply amazing, breahttakingly gorgeous. I have rated the bottle as the best one released this year on perfume forums and blogs and quite a few others have agreed. I would not be surprised if it had swept the awards. It is definitely a collector's item and worth buying just for the bottle.

The juice itself is as beautiful as the bottle as well. I have always loved the original but found it a bit too heavy for my taste. I could always see the genius behind it and loved it regardless. It is an iconic, historical fragrance included in most top 100 all time fragrances list and it has only been modernized just a bit.

Whether it is better or not I could not say as both are gorgeous and there are similarities except that this one has been slightly modernized while retaining the vintage feel. It does stay a bit closer to the skin but that is due to the bottle itself as well, however, it still has the depth and complexity today's fragrances usually lack.

The openinig is just gorgeous with the spices, bergamot and the flowers, I only wish the rose and other flowers stayed with me just a bit longer. The drydown is among the creamiest, warmest and sexiest and despite its depth it lacks the drieness many in this family possess.

"I find this version of Aromatics Elixir to be very creamy and soft. I love it! It reminds me of the original amber colored bottle that it once came in 40 years ago. I can't think of a time when I didn't wear this unique scent. I wish Clinique would bring back the body powder."

Best Aromatics Elixir yet!!!

Pros: not heavy very subtle and long lasting

Cons: limited edition

"I have used Aromatcs Elixir for at least 25 years it is my absolute favorite but this Reserve is the best, it is long lasting but subtle. It is a very sexy fragrance. It is the most beautiful elixir yet. I bought extra because it is limited. You also only need a little on your pulse points and it last all day. I have gotten compliments after I have had it on for over 8 hours. I wear Aromatics Elixir everyday."

"I have loved the original for all of its forty years, but this new version is the loveliest perfume I have ever found. It is soft, and yet elusively lingering.
Please consider making this available more often.
It is the crown jewel of fragrances!"

Cons: limited edition

"I always wanted to like original Aromatics Elixir, since the perfume notes it contains are intriguing. However, the original never worked with my chemistry and it is too pungent for my taste. This anniversary Perfumer's Reserve version is what I always wished Aromatics Elixir was and now it is, or at least temporarily since it is limited edition. In a deluge of analogous fragrances out there this one stands out from the crowd. It is sophisticated and complex, but not overbearing. It is my perfect scent for fall and winter. I can imagine wearing it for both a weekend in the country and an evening out on the town. And the bottle is lovely. I hope Clinique will decide to rerelease this gem again someday and add a spray eau de parfum. It would be wonderful if they could release it yearly around this time of the year before the holidays like they do with the Wrappings fragrance. It is sad to think after it is gone I will not have this in my fragrance wardrobe anymore."
