Another disappointment

"Purchased the lip liner on line, along with Instant Lift for Brows and experienced same problem with both. This liner wouldn't advance or retract and, as soon as I started to line my lips, with the very lightest touch, the pencil broke off. It must have been completely dried out. Once again, I do appreciate that, when I spoke with Customer Service, they said they would credit my account and it wouldn't be necessary to return the product. Quality control seems to be a real problem at Clinique right now."

"This is by far the best lip liner I have ever used. It glides on so smooth. I wear mostly nude shades of lipsticks and lip glosses. I find that my favorite shade is "Tender Taupe" because it is so neutral and goes with anything. I have used this shade for years. I hope Clinique never stops making this wonderful shade!"

Great Lipliner

Pros: absolutely no bleed
Cons: not always sharp enough, can't always tell how much is left
"I've been using this lipliner for years after Clinique did away with the "old-fashioned" pencils. I love that the lipliner doesn't bleed (especially as I get older and I think I might be having more places for bleeding to go). I love the selection of colours. I only have two issues with these retractable lipliners that have remained consistent since I started using them: since they can't be sharpened, you can't get that definitive thin line if and when you want it; and it isn't readily obvious how much is left because the mechanism is a little deceiving. I have to always keep spares.With the old style pencils, I could sharpen them when I wanted a more defined line and I also always knew how much pencil I had left."

"I have 2 shades, love them both. I fill in my bottom lip and then press upper and lower lip together for stain and then top with gloss. Stays on a long time and looks great."

"This lip liner does for my lips exactly what it says it will. I have lip liners from other high-end and drug store beauty manufacturers and Clinique is by far the leader. Have used Clinque foundations and moisturizers for several years but never tried their lip products. I will be buy more colors very soon."

Pros: creamy can be used as a lip color with clear glos
Cons: could be a little cheaper., have to repurchase often
"I purchased this because it blends so easily and is the closest shade to my natural lip color because I hate that liner thats darker than the lipstick look Prevents feathering and is creamy and doesn't tug when applying. I purchased Neutrally."

"I bought this lippencil to use as a basic lipcolour because it stays put. The color was very natural (Bamboo) yet enchanced the lips and I think it is much easier to use than the traditional ones you sharpen. I´m satisfied."

Cons: pricey for the size.
"I keep trying "self-sharpening" lip liners in hope that one will actually stay sharp and give a nice fine line. This one did not, and the color guide lead me to "Neutrally" which was far too brown for a light complection w/ pink undertones. Had to return - fortunately, Clinique is very cool about this."

Beige Plum works w/ Black Honey, great application

"I read every single review trying to find a recommendation on which color to wear with the Black Honey Almost Lipstick (my favorite lipstick/gloss EVER). Didn't find much besides Chili, so I took a leap of faith and ordered the Beige Plum color...and it works PERFECTLY for me: light brown hair, hazel eyes and medium skin tone. I've been wearing Clinique's Quickliner for Lips off-and-on since I was 13, and I'm so happy I came back to it! Easy application, soft-yet-defined look and as long lasting as I've experienced w/o drying (about 2-3 hours)."
