Favorite foundation

Pros: beautiful finish

"I tried this foundation years ago and couldn't use it because my skin was so oily. I recently tried it again now that I'm older and it is now my favorite foundation. I wear the lightest shade (Pale) and it is a perfect match. Makes my skin look beautiful. Please don't ever discontinue it."

Need Darker Colors!!!!

No longer happy

"I have been using this for years. They discountiued the first shade I started with and now they did the same with the shade I currently use. I tried the next shade nearest to what I was using and it makes me look very pale. I now have to find a new make up!!"

"I have tried all kinds of foundation and it has all flaked off my face before I can get out of the house. This stayed on all day and never flaked anywhere. I have found my foundation finally."

Off color, bad texture

"My favorite "superbalanced compact makeup" foundation was discontinued so I ordered this. The "pale" shade looks more like a dark suntan, more than three or four shades darker than my skin - and the texture is heavier and oiler and settles in lines. I don't like it at all. I would try to exchange it, but they have no lighter shade than "Pale", and "Pale" is too dark and orange. Very disappointing."

Couldn't match this product to my face!

Pros: nice texture, good coverage

Cons: few shade selections none for my face

"I really wanted to like this product. I liked the texture of the makeup and the way that it felt on my face. I liked the amount of coverage it provided (moderate to full is accurate).

HOWEVER... I could not match a shade to my skin. I am fair, so it's always tough. I bought the second lightest shade and it made me orange. The lightest shade made me look yellow. So unfortunately, I cannot use this product. They need to make more shade selections."

Great product - but inaccurate shades

Pros: great formula, fragrance-free, easy to apply, silky smooth

Cons: inaccurate shades, very little shade selection, too orange/pink toned

"This product is a very good cream compact foundation as far as the actual formula goes. However, the shades leave a lot to be desired. There is little choice in shade selection and at least a couple of the shades are not accurate. For example, the lightest shade "Pale" is listed as a 1N (neutral tone) - however this is very much not light enough nor "neutral toned". It is very orangey/pinkish - way too dark to be labeled that shade and tone. I love that this is a very creamy, silky, easy to apply product with no fragrance. Nice packaging too. There just needs to be more shades to choose from. A very light shade comparable to the Ivory 1N of the Perfectly Real foundation would be perfect. Also another one that is fairly light but with yellow or neutral tones. Believe it or not, most people are NOT ORANGE or PINK. The orange tone of this product looks like someone has a bad fake tan on (you know the ones - not like real tans, but the bad orange fake colors). LOVE this product - HATE the shade selection. I would recommend this product to a friend due to the wonderful formula, but only if she could use one of the very few foundation shades available. I am generously rating this product 4 stars, but only due to the formula."

Great Foundation

"This is the best foundation I have ever used! And I have tried plenty through the years. It covers completely and even hides some wrinkles. It blends perfectly with my skin tones and even has an SPF 15 to protect me from the sun. I can use as much or as little as I want because I can build on my first application. I am so happy to have found so great a foundation. Thank You."

"This is the best makeup ever! I have tried every one in Cliinque's line and most other popular/expensive lines, I have come back to this every year for over 15 years . One suggestion is to use the brush instead of the makeup sponge so you can put on lighter or heavier. I can't say enough good about it because I get compliments all the time..from strangers and friends on how smooth my skin looks! You won't be sorry....
CLINIQUE PLEASE DO NOT DISCONTINUE THIS LINE!!!!"

"i bought this product in the store, first time ever using Clinique products. i love the way it feels going on and i love the way it covers. i saw some reviews that said it was darker than they thought, and i thought the same thing when i opened it up, but if you dont cake it on it blends very very nicely. i am now officially hooked on Clinique brand makeup. :)"

Great coverage

Pros: buildable coverage, covers blemishes, lasts long

Cons: can smear off sometimes

"As a girl with blemishes and discoloration, I've struggled to find a foundation that would truly cover my acne without causing breakouts. This is the best foundation I've found by far. I can easily use this foundation as both a concealer and a base coat. It also lasts much longer than a liquid foundation, even compared to the expensive brands."

"This foundation has a great matte coverage that is long-lasting. Because I am fair complected, I ordered the lightest shade - which is rather dark. I am hoping that this will work for summer. Please make lighter shades of this foundation!"

"This makeup goes on very smoothly, covers very well, and does have "buildable" coverage as described by Clinique. I have dry skin and it does not make my skin look dull. The only problem I have with this makeup is the shade I purchased. I use Shade 2 in Clinique's Moisture Surge makeup, so the online color specialist suggested "Fair" in the City Base. It is dark, and kind of orange-ish. I have to blend it quite a bit to make it look OK. It is summer so I might be able to get away with it, but in the winter it would look really bad with my white body."
