"This product did not work for me. Possibly it's more for oily skin but when I applied it to my face, it turned into flaky particles which I then had to wipe off."

"I have been using this product for almost a year. It is very good at blending in with your skin and doesn't leave any oily residue. I apply it after Clinique's Dramatical Different moisturizer and it absorbs very well. Be careful...I once squeezed too much out and it got on my white shirt...it will stain. However, it does a fantastic job of not irritating my skin (especially the eyes) and keeps me from being burned. I love the fact that it doesn't smell like sunscreen. It has no scent and is very light weight!"

"Just put this on for the first time. No harsh smells, SO light and non-greasy. I have the world's most sensitive skin, and face sunblocks have been hard to find.
So grateful to have such a high SPF in a non-smelly, lightweight and non-burning formula. Could not recommend this more highly for people like me who need a really high SPF."

"I have been using the Super City Block (SPF 40) for several years. I live in South Mississippi, and I have red hair and freckles. The sun is not my friend. I can put this on in the morning and not worry about burning all day. The tube lasts for a very long time. But the absolute best part about this product is the ability to use it on my eyes. It goes under my eyes and on my eyelids and there is no burning. Every other face sunscreen I've tried burns my eyes... NOT Super City Block! Plus, there is a bit of a tint, but never leaves a makeup line. It is a little shiny at first, but settles into a natural look after a few minutes. Please never discontinue, Clinique. I cannot live without this!"

"I use this every single day after my 3-Step routine. I never even use foundation any more because of the tint with this product. SPF is more important to me, and I happen to like my freckles, thank you very much. Applying powder over it is difficult until it dries, but I use a cream blush anyway. If you're hung up on the price, that tube lasts forever."

"OK, so it's thick. But wouldn't we be a little skeptical if it wereTHIN? Thick is not bad here. I don't find it to be greasy, and it's tackiness after applying makes it appropriate for a foundation primer. (It does dry nicely if you wait a couple of minutes.) I guess it depends on what you are looking for in a facial sunscreen. I have searched high and low, read reviews galore and finally chose this one. It meet all my requirements: It moisturizes, I can use it under liquid makeup, high SPF with titanium and zinc oxide and best of all it contains antioxidants. The packaging is small, BUT you don't want to keep sunblock over until the next year, especially with antioxidants . So again, what might be a negative to some, is really a positive. great product Clinique."

"I've been using this daily for as long as it's been available in the U.K. Before that I used the City Blocks with lower spf's (15, 25), upgrading as higher spf's became available. I don't wear foundation or powder, just this product over my moisturiser. The slight tint evens out my skin tone. I can't recommend it highly enough. Good every day sun protection and a great compromise for me between bare and 'made up' skin. It can even be applied near the eyes without irritation. The only skin care product I couldn't do without.. I had a panic a couple of years ago when a Clinique consultant told me it was to be discontinued."

"For a reasonably priced facial sunscreen with decent SPF, this is an excellent product, especially for oilier/breakout-prone skin. I'm light skinned (use "light" shades in most brands) and love the tint--no whitish mask and gives me just enough coverage to even out my skin tone by covering redness and some spots without looking too heavy. I use it as my main face makeup with just a dusting of powder. It doesn't look too matte (a slight "dewey" look which is what I love) but it's definitely not too oily or hydrating either. If there is one improvement I could see, it would be that the product is somewhat thick and difficult to blend at times. I think you could mix it with a little moisturizer and get a lighter, more hydrating spread to make it more like a tinted moisturizer if you wanted to. The only other comment I could add is that the tint would probably be too light for tan/darker skin tones and it might be too drying alone for drier skin types. LOVE that the formulation includes the two "physical" sunscreens, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, with a tint to help disguise the opaque white chalky look that is common with these ingredients at high percentages."

"I used the Super City 25 for years, and loved it. Not long ago the Dermatologist said I needed to upgrade ... I've got red white & blue skin, the SPF 40 adds a lavender tone to my face which I am not thrilled about. When I apply my foundation I get clumping. I don't have 20 minutes to let the first layer cure before applying the foundation. But, I am living a much less sun burned life, for which I am appreciative to Clinique."

A little thick

"I started using this product at the beginning of the summer and I really like it. My only complaint is that it is really thick and can be hard to smooth onto skin. I have found if I mix it with a pea-sized amount of moisturizer, it makes it much easier to apply. I wear this EVERY day and will switch to the lower SPF in the winter."

"After being a clinique-only girl in high school, I stopped using it exclusively simply because I stopped going to the mall.

Well, I'm addicted again because of this product. I was using slightly lower in price spf face products and they either turned my face white or would run later and burn my eyes. I tried this in a bonus gift and fell in love!

I don't have a mime face anymore and no more burning, irritated eyes!

I definitely recommend not rubbing on areas that you've already put the spf and it has dried- it tends to cake just the tiniest bit. I may not get the oil-free version next time because my skin is a little dry.

Pros: good for oily skin stays on all day

"I super duper love City Block spf 40! It's the bomb! I've never tried any tinted sunscreens that makes your skin smooth and radiant like super city block does. I noticed that every time I use it, it makes my skin look so good like it glows with radiance. It also prevents my face from getting oily and stays on all day. The tint color is a bit off against my skin color but blends in eventually after a couple of hours. I definitely can't last summer without it!"
